what to expect

This popular campground and day-use area close to the Village of Haines Junction provides a dramatic view of Pine Lake and Paint Mountain. The day use area includes a sandy beach with a swimming platform, change rooms, playground, boat launch and dock. There is a short interpretive trail and wheelchair-accessible boardwalk along the lake where you can view birds and fish. The Southern Tutchone name is Tsí Män*, “red ochre lake,” referring to the crumbly red rock seen on Paint Mountain across the lake. A paved bicycle path links the campground to the Village of Haines Junction. Nearby is Kluane National Park.
