what to expect

Find year-round fun in Sheep River Provincial Park in beautiful Kananaskis Country. The park straddles the Rocky Mountains to the west and the foothills to the east, offering the best of both worlds. The park has excellent trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The crystal clear Sheep River is a good spot for fishing and whitewater paddling. The park’s ten day use areas are ideal spots to relax or enjoy a picnic before resuming your explorations. Sheep River Provincial Park also has four campgrounds for those who want to extend their stay. The campgrounds close in winter, but the park remains a popular spot. There is ice skating and 37 km of groomed cross-country ski trails.
